Let’s get one thing straight: turning 60 is not a funeral for your dreams. It’s the birthday party you didn’t know you needed—the one where instead of cake, you get a big slice of clarity. Yes, you might need readers to see the fine print on the invitation, but that doesn’t mean your best years are behind you. In fact, they’re finally here.
For me, life after 60 has become less about slowing down and more about speeding up in the right direction. I’m talking about health, purpose, and building something that matters—not just for me, but for women like me who are ready to renovate their lives.
Health: The Foundation of Every New Beginning
You don’t build a new house on a crumbling foundation, and you sure don’t build a new life on one either. At 60+, the best gift we can give ourselves isn’t another knick-knack for the shelf—it’s health. I’ve made it my mission to treat health as non-negotiable.
That means real food, movement that builds strength, and saying goodbye to things that drag us down (looking at you, nightly wine habit). It means stacking up muscle instead of excuses, drinking water like it’s liquid gold, and treating rest as a superpower, not a luxury.
And here’s the kicker: when you choose health, you choose possibility. Suddenly, you’re not worrying about “what if I can’t?” You’re busy asking, “what’s next?”
Purpose: More Than a Hobby, It’s a Lifeline
Here’s the truth: retirement is a myth if it means sitting around waiting for something to happen. I don’t buy into the “fade quietly into the background” storyline. That’s not for me—and if you’re still reading this, it’s not for you either.
Instead, purpose is our real paycheck. For me, that came in the form of starting an online business—a way to take my story, my skills, and yes, even my stumbles, and turn them into something that helps other women like me.
When I launched The Lisa Renee Project, it wasn’t just about me documenting my own transformation. It was about creating a space where other women could say, “Wait a second—I’m not done either.” That’s what lights me up: showing women over 60 that it’s not too late to reinvent, re-energize, and re-imagine their lives.

The Business Side of Purpose
Now, let’s talk shop. The internet isn’t just for scrolling, it’s for building. We live in a time where starting an online business doesn’t require renting office space, wearing pantyhose (thank goodness), or even leaving your living room.

For me, my business is the bridge between personal transformation and community impact. Whether it’s coaching, creating digital products, or sharing my journey on YouTube, the business isn’t the end goal—it’s the vehicle. The real goal? Helping other women discover their own strength, freedom, and yes, a little humor along the way.
Because if you can’t laugh at yourself while learning TikTok dances for “research purposes,” what’s the point?
A Serious Note (With a Wink)
Life after 60 isn’t about what you’ve lost; it’s about what you’ve gained: perspective, grit, and the ability to say no to nonsense. Sure, gravity may have claimed a few victories, but you know what? Gravity doesn’t get the final word—you do.
This season of life is about choice. You can choose to believe the story that you’re “too old,” or you can rewrite it. Me? I’ve chosen the rewrite. I’m trading in old habits for healthier ones, excuses for action, and uncertainty for a vision that excites me.
Your Invitation to the Beginning
So here’s my invitation to you: stop thinking about life after 60 as “the end of the road.” Think of it as a renovation project. (And you know I love a good renovation metaphor.) It’s noisy, messy, and sometimes you discover things you’d rather not see—but when the dust clears, what’s left is strong, beautiful, and built to last.
You’re not too old. You’re right on time. And your story isn’t finished—it’s just getting interesting.
So grab your water bottle, pick up that journal, and let’s get to work on building a life you’re proud of. Because this isn’t the end. It’s the start of something powerful, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.
With Love,
Lisa Renee
